Blues On The Beach - July 26th

Big thanks goes out to Erin, Karen and the board of directors for putting on "Blues On The Beach" July 26th at Short Beach, Stratford, Ct.
There were 14,000 people at this years festival. Henley-Douglas RnB had a blast playing a 90 minute set and we let it all hang out with our music.
This one of those special shows with a lot of people who had never heard of our band. The festival line-up was mostly great local bands doing their thing.
After our first song was played the audience got up and started dancing and hollering. We received a lot props from the bands that performed before us.
Something like this doesn't happen that often. It was very cool to see people getting down to our music, the first time they heard it. We made a lot of new friends that day.

Our New CD "Decimal Point" has Dropped!

The band is excited to have "Decimal Point" available at shows and downloads from CDBaby, Itunes and Amazon
You can find it under Henley-Douglas RnB "Decimal Point"  This music was recorded "Live" at Amory Sound in Somerville, Ma. Engineered by Michael Healey. We had a small audience on hand to witness what we do playing live in the studio. The 8 tracks feature 5 original songs with lyrics written by Douglas Gimbel. 3 cover tunes that have been crowd favorites "Compared To What" by Gene McDaniels made famous by Les McCann and Eddie Harris. "All I Want To Do is Make Love To You" By Willie Dixon using the Cold Blood arrangement of the song. Johnnie Walker's "Top Spot" is covered showing the band getting down in the Reggae Style. One of the great things about this is the hearing the band play off of each other during solos and section changes. We'll be uploading tracks for preview.

What's Going On

Henley-Douglas RnB has been playing some great shows this year. We opened for Blues Legend James Cotton and J. Geils at the Larcom Theatre in Beverly. This 100 year old theatre sounds amazing and is the new jewel on the North Shore of Boston. We're looking forward to playing the Larcom later this year. This Summer has us playing in 2 beautiful seaside towns Mine Oyster in Boothbay Harbor and Dennett's Wharf Oyster House in Castine, Me. Henley has been playing Castine every year for 25 years. We love to play these places. People don't mess around.  Once the music drops these places start jumping. We also played the "Windjammer Days Festival" in Boothbay Harbor, Me June 25th.

Blues On The Beach Strafford, Ct - July 26 5:40 to 7:10 - This blues festival is one of best things going on today. They're expecting a crowd of 14,000 to dance and party all day and night.
